Breaking Bad‘s Badger Writes the Best Star Trek Story Line Ever.
The Internet Responds Promptly with an Animated Version.AMC’s Breaking Bad has returned for it’s final eight episodes. The premiere started off with a plethora of intense scenes, most notably Walt and Hank’s confrontation. However, staying true to form, show runner Vince Gilligan sprinkled in a few lighthearted moments to even out the tone. In Blood Money (S05E09), Gilligan gave us one of the maybe the best Badger/Skinny Pete conversation of the series when Badger reveals his plot for a Star Trek pie eating contest episode. Naturally the internet responded with an animated version of what this episode would look like and it’s awesome.
James Franco Prepares to be Roasted.I’m not really a fan of roasts, but I’ll make an exception for this one. It has been announced that Seth Rogan will host The Roast of James Franco set to air September 10th on Comedy Central. Bill Hader and Jonah Hill join the event as the headliners along with help from Nick Kroll, Natasha Leggero, Jeff Ross, and Sarah Silverman.
Tina Fey Helps Develop a New Series for NBC.It appears that after the recent finale of Tina Fey’s 30 Rock, she’s already back at work developing a new female-lead comedy for NBC along with former 30 Rock co-showrunner, Robert Carlock. Deadline reports that the comedy -“in the vein of ‘Cheers'” – would be a character-driven workplace series “where a young woman in search of reconnecting with her father finds a new home and family on Fire Island.” While it doesn’t sound like anything too unique to me, I’m choosing to trust Fey – one of the few actresses I enjoy.
The Paparazzi Takes a Picture of the Coolest Girl in Hollywood.I hate namedropping. If you use it to try to impress me, it’s going to fail every time. One of the many things I’ve always loved about my friend Jo is that, although she works in the entertainment industry, she never ever name drops. This week, a few pictures featured on JustJared.com emerged showing Jo hobnobbing with Mad Men‘s Christina Hendricks and Pitch Perfect‘s Rebel Wilson at Jennifer Klein’s 15th Annual Day of Indulgence Private Party. She won’t say it, but this is pretty cool, Jo.
Aaron Paul Raises Money for a Good Cause by Participating in a AMA on Reddit. First, can I just say that Aaron Paul may be my favorite person right now? This guy is so nice, smart and funny that I fall more in love with him every time he opens his mouth. Last week, Aaron took part in a Reddit Ask Me Anything interview to help raise money for the Kind Campaign – an organization started by his wife, Lauren, that “brings awareness and healing to the negative and lasting effects of bullying.” In the interview he answers a lot of questions about himself and shares some candid moments from the set of Breaking Bad. He also calls people “bitch” a lot. Always a crowd pleaser. At one point, he even offers to call and talk with a commenter who compliments his wife and the work she’s doing with the Kind Campaign. If you’re a BB fan or if you need to restore your faith in celebrities, you really should read through this thread.
