Top 25 Movies of 2013: the precursor

Those of you who consider yourselves film buffs like myself know that at the end of each year you will be forced to rank all the movies you saw released during said year. No one is literally forcing you, and if you’re honest with yourself, no one would even notice if you skipped, but your list making OCD will not allow the irrational nudging to dissipate. So, you spend all your free time in December playing catch up and cursing Netflix for not having a stronger crop of options to choose from and Redbox for their confining 24-hour return policy. Then January 1st hits and you’re still several viewings short of what you think would constitute a respectable collection. That is precisely where a find myself now.

If you a blogger and a movie elitist, you are now feeling the same pressure I am – I must see the movies missing from my list and I must see them now, lest I wait too long and the corresponding post becomes irrelevant.
Adhering to all these fabricated year end movie list guidelines is no small task.

That brings us here to the precursor of my actual list; the entry that I ask for your help to inform me of the hidden gems for 2013.

I’m giving myself the deadline of January 20th to get as many movies as possible off my watchlist and to hit the 100 views mark, and until January 31st to have my countdown posted in full.
So you tell me, what am I missing? What films flew under the radar? Why was Admission so blah when it starred both Paul Rudd and Tina Fey? Oh, the tragedy!
